Surgical Fees

Bariatric Surgery – Private Health

All Bariatric surgery will be billed to your respective health fund.
There will be a facility fee that is not claimable and differs depending on the operation of choice, but it enables you to have LIFETIME bulk-billed follow up consultations with the surgeon (you will need a new GP referral every 12 months).

Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy $2250

Please note the facility fee does not include the Surgeons consultation fees, dietitian consultation fees, anaesthetist fees or your hospital excess.

Self-Funding Bariatric Patients

This is difficult to assess as hospital fees are variable but the self-funded cost for a Gastric Sleeve, Mini Bypass or RY Bypass is approximately $19,000 – $22,700 depending on procedure. This includes all surgical, anaesthetist and hospital costs as well as 5 visits to our dietitian. All surgical follow-up is bulk billed.
Medicare claims are applicable to self-funding patients for the surgical and anaesthetist costs.
